according to the ancient alchemical tradition, the number seven stands for a full cycle. seven years after launching its first fragrances, oliver & co. writes a new chapter of its story with the opening of the brand's first flagship store in madrid.
the space follows the avant-garde spirit of the brand. oliver valverde, the founder of the brand, succeeded to convey a hybrid and non-conventional atmosphere that allows clients to discover his creations. his background as a dj and a sound engineer is embodied in a room that evokes the nocturnal and tellurian arcadia of dark electro music temples. the callers will also find references to botanical gardens and laboratories that lay in the origin of fragrance design. as the visitor walks in, dark shades and monochrome surfaces surround subtle lights and unexpected décors. just like oliver's fragrances, the space reveals its mysteries quietly. the final result is an atmosphere, somewhere between a techno club and a moonlit garden.
oliver valverde is a self-taught fragrance designer, and he followed the same intuitive philosophy to design this space with the collaboration of nacho amago. no rules is the best rule.
inside the flagship store, the visitors will be welcomed to unveil the oliver & co. universe, discover amazing raw materials and purchase fragrances. although the brand already relies on a worldwide retail network, this is the first store run and managed by this independent, madrid-based company. conceived as a conceptual workshop and creative hub, its shape and function will change over the years. the visitor's experience will be enhanced through collaborations and multidisciplinary dialogues. the window will host art interventions and ephemeral installations. the soundtrack of the space evokes oliver's passion for avant-garde electronic music.
in a time when perfumery is lost in an ocean of indistinguishable, identical references, oliver & co.'s first studio and flagship store opens its doors to the public and dives in the contradictions that fuel the brand: mystery and transparency, distance and closeness, light and darkness.
